One of my favourite (and top!) beauty secrets, permanent makeup with Patrick Henri @ Absolu Pure – and I’m glad to be sharing it with you!
*Note : this blog cover image of me is with Patrick’s eyeliner correction + 1wk lip blush healing (not fully healed yet.) Not brows.
As you may know, I’m into lazy beauty. Sunscreen, collagen, and permanent makeup tattooing. It suits my personality and the makeup-melting Asian weather. (See my Natasha Moor Cosmetics article on my melt-free all-day lazy makeup essentials!)
I also practice ‘kaisen’ in my own life, and have consequently reached the point where I choose specialists in their own areas. Those who practice and perfect their own work into a daily art form. Like Patrick.
Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning “change for the better” or “continuous improvement.” It’s a philosophy and practice that focuses on making small, incremental changes to processes and systems to achieve significant long-term results.
Expert Natural Permanent Makeup Specialist in Hong Kong
I knew immediately that Patrick was a super-specialist in his art. This 15+ years Asia-experienced ex-YSL Beaute + Versace makeup artist trainer understands colour like a painter. He takes his work very seriously, knows how to achieve best results for different skin types and tones, and will not compromise on the quality of his results.
This means natural beauty results only, not rushing, allowing time to heal, and proper care for healing. His results speak for themselves. As does the fact that his business is booked out months in advance on word of mouth only, and he barely does any social media. (Note : you may find him online under Patrick Havegheer / Patrick Henri / and Absolu Pure.)

Permanent Makeup Correction in Hong Kong (my saviour!) 🥹
Patrick has spent two years helping me correct someone else’s past bad eyeliner (really, his dedication is incredible.) Long story short, the bad tattoo was bluish, deep, uneven, different on both sides, and generally a horrible and incompetent job that had me crying many days feeling like I’d ruined my face. A few years after it was done, I was recommended Patrick by another mentor in the TWF Mentoring Program for Women Leaders, and when we first met Patrick was uncertain we’d be able to fix it.
Today, his work has corrected and brightened my eyelids, and I’ve had my lips shaped and coloured by him twice; first very nude, and now a rosy blush. Once all eyeliner correction completes, we’ll darken my lash line and may natural highlight around my lip-line (TBC, as the first lip highlight was so perfect and subtle.)
The correction has had unexpected benefits too; friends started asking me how I look so bright-eyed in the mornings now (I’m 100% morning globlin creature), people asking where they can buy my brightening eyeshadow (which is Patrick’s correction colour-blending) and we also applied the highlighting to my outer lip-line for an almost-invisible permanent shape highlight that I learned from makeup artists in modelling and acting shoots. (Overlining lip highlight).
Permanent Makeup, Naturally.
Patrick is a specialist in natural permanent makeup brows, lips and eyeliner, and brilliant at what he does. He’s worth every dollar and retouching is part of the price, because his focus is on client results and customer happiness. Contact him for pricing, as it is competitive but slightly varies on your requirements (eg. lips? brows? eyeliner? lash enhancement? correction?)
He’s at a level that he lets his work speak for itself, and even those of us who are rather bossy / precise / meticulous (me!) and used to being in charge are able to relax knowing that we’re in capable, expert hands. His customers feel this, and we keep coming back to him for all our permanent makeup needs.
SUMMARY
- Natural brows / lips / eyeliner specialist. (May consider corrections in some cases.)
- Hong Kong, Sheung Wan location – bright modern cosy studio.
- Process : Consultation. Appointment few hours (depends on area). Pre-draw design for approval, numbing cream, tattoo. (For lips is liner then fill all same colour.)
- Healing lips : 1 week visible, 1 month underneath. Swelling + uneven lip shape days 1-3, flaking days 3-7.
- Healing eyes : varies, mine takes average 3 days to recover + 1 week full recovery. (But I’m more gentle on eyes knowing skin takes at least a 3-6 weeks to heal deeper layers, and 4-6 weeks to see final true colour.)
FULL DETAILS & MY EXPERIENCE
The Art of Timeless Beauty: Patrick’s Approach to Natural Perfection
Patrick is all about timeless, natural beauty. Specialising exclusively in permanent makeup only for brows, eyeliner, and lips, his subtle enhancements celebrate you. He works exclusively with natural tones, ensuring results are polished yet understated. His ethos is simple: quality, elegance, and precision. To maximise customer comfort, Patrick keeps evolving with the latest product improvements.
My experience : Process for lips or eyes takes a few hours and I allocate plenty of extra time as I dislike feeling rushed, and prefer Patrick to have full freedom of time to work his magic.
For lips, after drawing a precise outline of the shape for approval and exact measurements, numbing cream is applied for 20-30mins. I ask for extra time as I’m rather sensitive. Lip liner is quite painful for me but colour fill feels like only pressure, not pain.
For eyeliner correction, same 20-30 mins numb cream is applied and Patrick adjusts the colour depending on previous colour results. Feels like pressure only, no pain, and I’ve had LASIK so ask for extra careful eye pressure.
I’m very conservative and diligent in my post-treatment care. Eyes are easy care, but no eye makeup for 1 week minimum. For lips, some people heal within a few days, but due to my health / inflammation tendencies I always expect approximately a week of swelling, discolouration, blotchiness, flaking skin and strange shape as the healing progresses. If any of those things don’t happen, I feel lucky!
For first 3-5 days / week after, I schedule more desk than talk time, as lips are slightly stiff and prefer not to stretch or move them excessively. I also avoid anything edible with high colour which may affect lips; eg. no spice / coloured wine.
The Experience: Thoughtful, Tailored, and Comfortable
Each session is designed with care and attention, typically taking a few hours. Why? Because perfection takes time. Patrick starts with a free consultation to understand your vision, expectations and preferences, and to ensure you’re both a fit for each other. Then he designs a look that uniquely complements your features, using precise measurements to ensure symmetry and balance.
If Patrick notices discomfort he may pause the process to apply more numbing cream, or stop if required – he’ll put your comfort and needs above all.
Conservative Color for a Natural Finish
When it comes to color, Patrick opts for a conservative approach and believes it’s better to start subtle and build up later if needed. It typically takes 4-6 weeks for colour to settle into its full, natural beauty. So the next retouch will likely be in 4-6 weeks time; mine are generally 1.5mths apart.
Tips for the Best Results
Healthy, hydrated skin helps results, so come prepared with your best skincare game. If your skin is irritated or overly sensitive, it’s best to wait until it’s calm before booking.
Post-treatment, the first 3–5 days are crucial. Keep your skin clean, avoid touching the area, and for lips avoid spicy or highly pigmented foods (goodbye, red wine—just for now!). These simple steps ensure your results heal beautifully and last even longer.
